July 28, 2023 Fractal Mapper 9 Users: The mapping tools on
this page are designed specifically for Fractal
Mapper 8. These tools will work with
Fractal Mapper 9, but versions of the
same add-ons for Fractal Mapper 9 are
available here, and they have
been enhanced in many cases to take advantage of FM9's improved graphics. If for some reason you prefer to use the FM8 versions with FM9, remember to rest
the location to your FM9 nbos folder. The Vintyri
Project distributes three add-on packages of
symbols and fills for Fractal Mapper 8. Please pick the package that you wish to

Installation: Unzip the file into a temporary folder. Then run the file setup.exe.
Install into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\nbos\
If you installed into a
custom location, substitute that location for C:\Program Files (x86).

a free set of hundreds of raster (bitmap)
symbols and fill patterns with the main emphasis on buildings and the
tools needed to map villages, cities, etc.
The collection also includes a wide variety of fill patterns for use

VCC_Install_Guide.pdf Run setup.exe. Install into: C:\Program Files (x86)\nbos\Mapper8 If you installed into a
custom location, substitute that location for C:\Program Files (x86). We STRONGLY URGE all users
to go through the 7-page installation guide before installing! During beta testing, even
experienced FM8 users made mistakes
through an oversight that led to a non-functioning installation. Other users had difficulty using new fill
patterns that have alpha channel transparency. The guide also explains how these
work. Finally, the guide is the only
documentation at this point that tells one what is in the Setup-file and
where one finds what after installing.
The few minutes it takes to read the 7 pages before installing can
save considerable time after correcting errors! |
